Mexico, Days 1 and 2

Left home 5:15 a.m.

Departed Seattle 9:30 a.m.

Arrived in Mexico City at 4:40 p.m., via Aero Mexico Airlines. Melody was our hostess for this trip. Aero Mexico was a pleasant surprise. Our plane left on time, served beverages and a full meal, showed a movie (Mamma Mia), and arrived on time.

We went through Immigration at Mexico City, and then caught a domestic flight. Arrived in Cancún at 7:55 p.m.

Armando met us at the airport with the big purple Discovery Tours bus number 808. Checked into Presidente InterContinental Hotel. Slept.

Free day in Cancún. Cancún is a party city with powdery sand beaches. It draws about 4 million visitors each year.

Swam in the Caribbean. Slept in the sun. Had dinner with new friends at Margarita and Marijuana’s Cantina. I ordered Zócalo Pollo: chicken wrapped in squash blossom and stuffed with rice and pumpkin seeds. I ate every bite
