Grand Canyon Suite, 2nd variation
May. 17th, 2009 10:36 pmSightseeing is more pleasant before noon... We spent 6 hours around the Canyon today, and the early hours were far more enjoyable.
Then we headed south, away from the national parks. We'll take the next two days to get back to Vegas for our flight home.
Tonight, we're in Kingman, AZ, on historic Route 66. Even our motel follows the Mother Road theme, with lots of memorabilia and a cute soda shop breakfast room. It was 96 degrees when we rolled in at 6pm, so I was happy to try out their big swimming pool. Bliss.

Back to the Canyon in the morning. At least it isn't as hot here-- only 87 degrees and bright sunshine.
I thought it was cooler, until I stepped into the outdoor heated pool,,, Brrrrr! the pool was only 84 degrees! I nearly froze, Luckily the jacuzzi was a toasty 104 degrees...

May. 15th, 2009 03:01 pmSunny Arizona is just fine, thanks for asking. It's 91 degrees and there's a light breeze. I can see Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon dam from my balcony. Both kids are snoozing while I'm online. Life is good!
