It started innocently enough. I'd heard about the teen vampire novel Twilight and bought a copy. I thought it was a fun read and purchased the next installment, New Moon. Then I read Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. And listened to the audiobooks of each title.

Then the movie Twilight came out. My teen daughter and I went to see it first day, Friday Nov. 21.
It was wonderful / horrible. I don't know what we expected, but that wasn't it.

So we went back and saw it again. Then I bought the soundtrack, listened to that for a few days, and went back for a third viewing. That's enough Twilight for now. Except that I now troll fan sites for hours, pocketing icons and looking up the filming locations.

I've also threatened to take my silver(gray) car and my red truck on a road trip to Kalama High school, where they filmed exterior shots. My kids said absolutely No Way. I would totally drive around St Helens, Oregon and down the Columbia Gorge too. I'm from the area, so I recognized enough of the scenery to be annoying (That's nowhere NEAR Forks! That's the bridge at Cascade Locks!).
I'm not obsessed. Well, maybe a little. Is there a 12-step program for obsessive-compulsive older-than-dirt fangirls?
